Margaritaville at Sea’s Islander Cruise Ship Will Offer Longer Itineraries

Hoping for slightly longer Margaritaville at Sea itineraries? The cruise line has announced additional 6- and 7-night sailings for 2025 onboard the Margaritaville at Sea Islander.

Scheduled to re-enter service in June 2024, the Islander already offers 4- and 5-night cruises to the Caribbean. During these voyages, the Spirit-class cruise ship will sail from Tampa and call on destinations like Key West, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and Puerto Progreso, Mexico.

Its newly introduced 6- and 7-night sailings for 2025 add Ocho Rios, Jamaica; Belize; and Grand Cayman to its earlier list of port calls. However, these are available on limited dates.

The longer cruises only have between one and four sailing dates.

For example, The 6-Night Mexico & Key West, 7-Night Keys, Belize & Mexico, and the 7-Night Mexico Trio only have one booking date.

Meanwhile, the 7-Night Keys, Mexico & Belize trip has two available schedules from September to October. The 7-night Jamaica, Cayman & Mexico voyage has four dates.

According to the cruise line, the lengthier itineraries have been designed to offer passengers more days at sea and more opportunities to explore the ship’s various amenities.

The Islander is Margaritaville’s second ship and is currently undergoing renovation. Changes include the redesign of its 1,100 staterooms, embellishments to the atrium lobby and bar, adding a water slide, and rebranding facilities.

Previously known as Costa Atlantica by the Carnival Corporation, the Islander is bigger than the cruise line’s first ship, the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise. It can carry up to 2,650 passengers, while Paradise’s capacity is 1,680 guests.

On June 14, 2024, it will leave on its inaugural voyage under the Margaritaville at Sea brand. Built in 2000 for Carnival Corporation, it was acquired by Costa Cruises in 2019 before being bought by Margaritaville in late 2023.
