We are learning more about the latest Disney cruise ship. Filled to the brim with movie and theme park-inspired amenities from the Disney franchise, the Disney Treasure is scheduled to embark on its maiden voyage in December 2024.
Currently being built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, Disney’s sixth cruise ship features new dining, entertainment, and accommodation options that borrow key elements from classic Disney films that include Aladdin, Coco, Zootopia, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Jungle Cruise, and more.
“The Disney Treasure will bring brand-new stories to life, blending one-of-a-kind experiences with the extraordinary entertainment, world-class dining, and unparalleled hospitality that make every sailing so memorable,” said the cruise line’s Senior Vice President and General Manager Sharon Siskie.
Latest Disney Cruise Ship
The second Wish-class cruise ship will leave for its maiden voyage on December 21, 2024, from Port Canaveral, Florida, for a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise. Upon its return, it will embark on its inaugural season, taking passengers to Eastern and Western Caribbean destinations for seven-night itineraries.
Take a look at what’s new:
AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg
The AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg is a 760-foot tube ride that will treat guests to views of the ocean and the ship’s lower decks.
Plaza de Coco
Taken from the 2017 animated feature film Coco, Plaza de Coco is the first theatrical dining experience from Disney Cruise Line. It offers two themed nights of live entertainment that continue the story of Miguel while passengers chow down on Mexican fare.
Grand Hall
One of the most photographed areas of the ship is the Grand Hall. Decadent and indulgent with shades of blue and gold, the large and airy venue is inspired by Aladdin. According to the cruise line, it is the “ship’s most prominent gathering space” where passengers can watch shows, meet famous Disney characters, and listen to musical performances.
Tomorrow Tower Suite
Fans of the EPCOT theme park will love staying in the Tomorrow Tower Suite. The futuristic accommodations overlook the top deck and provide expansive views of the horizon with its two-story window. It’s almost 2,000 square feet, can accommodate up to eight people, and has its eating, playing, and sleep areas. It also has a full kitchen and an exclusive ensuite elevator.
If these descriptions whetted your appetite for the cruise company’s latest and greatest vacation experience, you can make your bookings on September 20. Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club members can book on September 12, 2023.
