Those who make a cruise booking on or before December 31, 2022, will have the option of prepaying their service charges at the current rate. If they are sailing on or after January 1st and do not prepay their gratuities, they’ll be charged the new rate.

For bookings made on or after January 1, 2023:

  • $25.00 USD per person per day for The Haven and Suites;
  • $20.00 USD per person per day for Club Balcony Suite and below;

For bookings made before January 1, 2023, that pre-pay their service charges before their sail date:

  • $20.00 USD per person per day for The Haven and Suites;
  • $18.00 USD per person per day for Club Balcony Suite;
  • $16.00 USD per person per day for all other stateroom types

Service charges can be prepaid in the Vacation Summary section of the My NCL website.

Before this latest hike, Norwegian Cruise Line gratuities were last increased gratuities in April 2022.

Norwegian is not the only cruise line that will soon increase its gratuity charge; last week, Princess Cruises announced that it will be doing the same for voyages sailing on or after February 20, 2023. Princess’ rates will be going up $1.50 per person, per day for each stateroom category.
