Overview: Costa is the leading European cruise line. Along with its partner cruise lines, AIDA Cruises and Iberocruceros, they have the largest cruise ship fleet in Europe with 26 ships and 3 more on the way.
Programs for Babies: While babies under 3 do sail free with Costa, (not counting port fees and taxes) it will be a hit or miss as to whether there’s an area designed for toddlers for them to go. This is because in Costa’s Kid’s Club, called the Squok Club, toddlers under 3 are only allowed to go in if it’s not too busy. If it’s too crowded or peak season, they won’t be able to. But if it’s slow, they’ll be welcome with a parent accompanying them.
Programs for Kids: There are 2 clubs within the Squok Club for kids. The Minis are 3-6 years old, and the Maxis are 7-11. These clubs are available at various times throughout the day. Activities include making costumes for theme nights, sculpture making, dancing lessons, treasure hunts, and more. There’s also sports tournaments and themed parties such as ice cream parties, an Evening at the Circus, and a pirate party.
Programs for Tweens: Teen Junior is for ages 12-14. They have activities like mural painting, necklace making, treasure hunts, and a talent show. There’s also dance lessons and clown lessons, as well as sports tournaments and a late-night pool party.
Programs for Teens: While the teens ages 15-17 have their own club within the Squok Club, many of their activities are the same as the tweens. They do things like karaoke, themed parties, dance lessons, and video recording and editing. There’s also a Cupid’s Night, and an election of Miss Teen and Mr. Teen, as well as sports tournaments.
Family Programs: Fun for the whole family with Costa includes a talent show, karaoke, and bingo. There’s also sports and pool activities.
Costa offers two themed dinners per cruise for kids so their parents can enjoy a night out. Themes include Circus, Pirates, Halloween, Underwater, and more.
Family-Friendly Shipboard Amenities: Costa ships include a game room, with pirate ships and giant legos to play on – and with! There’s also live show performances and plenty of outdoor activities for everyone.
Costa also offers a kid’s menu at every meal that includes kids’ favorites like mac & cheese, chicken fingers, burgers, and ice cream. They also have a kid’s beverage card which allows them to have 10 special non-alcoholic beverages throughout their cruise, such as fruit juices and soda.
