Royal Caribbean has extended its Cruise with Confidence program in light of the continued spread of the Omicron variant.
The program will now include reservations that are confirmed on or before March 31, 2022 for cruises departing through September 30, 2022. It offers the option for booked guests to cancel their cruise up to 48 hours prior to the sail date, in exchange for a 100 percent future cruise credit.
The future cruise credit can be used for any sailing that departs within a year of the original sail date, or by December 31, 2022 — whichever is longer.
Qualifying guests are also eligible to utilize the cruise line’s Best Price Guarantee up to 48 hours before the cruise. This means that if a guest has already booked a cruise but sees it later on for a better price, they can call Royal Caribbean. If it’s before the final payment, the cruise fare will be adjusted. If the final payment has already been made, the difference will be refunded in the form of onboard credit.

In an email to travel advisors, the cruise line also said that it has strengthened some of its health protocols to “ensure that we mitigate the spread of COVID-19 onboard.”
One way it has done this in recent weeks is by tightening its face mask policy onboard, which is currently in effect through January 31. Passengers must wear face masks in all indoor public areas unless eating or drinking, regardless of whether the venue is designated as being for those who are vaccinated only.
Another recent measure that Royal Caribbean has taken is temporarily banning smoking in the casino, also at least through January 31.
